Situation

Baker Oil Tools desperately needed to make life less difficult for their engineers performing service jobs on oilrigs. They required a user-friendly solution that would automatically monitor the service job, and provide detailed reports once back in the office.

Solution

After comprehensive consultation with the customer, Measuresoft's proposed solution was based on a portable rugged PC running Microsoft Windows^TM, Measuresoft’s ScadaPro SCADA product, and application software written by Measuresoft to create a fully tailored system that meets the following customer needs:

• A simple user interface with a minimum number of keystrokes required for users.
• Automated calibration of sensors, monitoring and logging of real world data and facility for engineers to log comments on real world activities and events.
• Generation of customer defined reports on a variety of output devices, including plotters, inkjet printers and laser printers.
• A suite of house keeping utilities for managing the archival of jobs.
• A simple set up procedure so that the software can be rapidly transferred to other systems.
